Fabric Sticker Techniques
Peeling fabric stickers from the backing: When working with fabric stickers, remember the stickers are printed on a woven fabric with a grain. This means the sticker can distort when pulled or stretched from opposite corners. To avoid this, gently peel from the top to bottom or bottom to top, peeling both sides at the same time—not peeling from one corner diagonally to the next.

Placing fabric stickers: When placing the sticker on a surface, hold it at the center and carefully place the bottom edge first.

Altering fabric stickers: Achieve a vintage effect by fraying the edges of the fabric stickers. Use your fingers to gently pull a few fibers from the edge of the sticker. The more fibers you remove the longer the frayed edge becomes.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Cut a 3 1/2” wide strip of Tan Catalog paper. Edge the long left side with black ink. Glue the strip to the right side of the Brown Leather background paper.
  2. Cover three slide mounts with Tan Catalog paper. Apply black ink to the outer edges of each slide.
  3. Cut two 1/2” wide strips of black cardstock and glue them to the top and bottom of the page as shown. Mat the photo on light ivory cardstock, leaving a 1/16” wide border, then on brown cardstock, leaving a 1/8” wide border. Mat again on black cardstock, leaving a 1/16” wide border. Glue the matted photo to the page as shown.
  4. Journal onto light ivory cardstock. Mat with black, leaving a 1/8” wide border. Use the X-acto knife to make 2 small cuts at the top of the journaling and insert a brad into each. Place the “Father” and “Mother” tape-style word stickers at the top. Use the black pen to write “&” between the words. Glue the journaling to the page as shown.
  5. Glue the slide mounts across the bottom black strip as shown. Place a car sticker inside each slide. Cut the ribbon into four 3” lengths and knot the centers of each length. Glue a knot to each slide with a Mini Glue Dot™. Place the number tags to write the date at the top of the black border, using the knife to poke a hole for the brads as before.
  6. Fray all 4 sides of the “Keys to the Past” sticker and the bottom edge of the key tags. Adhere the sticker to the page as shown. Glue the remaining knotted ribbon length to the sticker tags as shown.
