This cheerful 8”x8” page brings in the spring season with brightly patterned papers and cool clear overlay accents. The fresh spring-themed overlays add unique dimension to the page while grosgrain ribbon and colorful mini brads add even more dimension and texture.
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Use the yellow multi stripes paper as the background, turning the paper so the stripes run horizontally. Cut a 1 1/4” wide strip of blue with multi dots paper and ink one of the long edges with black. Mat the inked edge on purple textured paper, trimming the mat to 1/4”. Glue the long, unmatted edge even with the left edge of the background paper.
- Mat a vertical 4”x5” photo on purple textured paper, trim the mat to 3/16” and ink the edges black. Glue the matted photo 1/2” in from the border and 1/2” down from the top of the page. Computer journal a caption and a small journaling block onto purple textured paper, crop and ink the edges. Glue the caption centered under the photo and glue the journaling block next to the bottom right corner of the photo, slightly overlapping the photograph with each journaling element, as shown.
- Cut out the blue with stripes tag. Cut out the pink flower tile overlay and glue it over the blue portion of the tag, then glue the tag at an angle in the top right corner of the photo. Add one yellow mini brad to the tab. Cut out the blue butterfly tile overlay and use a lime mini brad to attach the overlay in the top right corner of the page, just right of the tag. Cut out the “Buds & Blooms” and “Spring” label overlays and glue them centered across the bottom of the yellow multi stripes paper, 5/8” up from the bottom edge. Cut a short length of aqua grosgrain ribbon and secure it between the two overlays with one lime mini brad in each end.
- Cut out the “bloom” journaling overlay and use a black permanent pen to journal the name and date onto the blank portion. Use an aqua mini brad to attach the overlay over purple textured paper, then trim the paper even with the sides of the overlay. Glue the overlay over the page border, as shown, about 2” down from the top of the page. Cut a 9” length of aqua grosgrain ribbon and trim the tails at an angle. Tie the ribbon into a shoestring bow and use a Glue Dot™ to secure the bow over the purple textured portion of the page border, about 2” up from the bottom of the page.
