The papers from the new 12”x12”
sarapapers™ come coordinated in sets and work great together
monochromatically. For a bit of fun, trying mixing them up for some rich
contrast as Shauna did here. Shauna used papers from both the green and
brown sets for this mother and son page. Green and brown are both earthy,
natural colors that compliment each other nicely and create contrast.
The papers also echo the colors in the photo.
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Trim the dark green floral paper to 4” wide. Mat the right edge
on bronze shine, then trim to 1/8”. Layer over the left side of
the brown script paper. Trim to a combined 11 1/8” page width.
Mat the right edge of the brown script paper on bronze shine and trim
to 1/8”. Cut a 1” wide strip of dark green floral and glue
behind brown script so that the total width of the layout is 12”
wide.
- Mat the photo on eggshell cardstock, trim to 1/16”. Mat again
on bronze shine and trim to a 1/4” mat. Adhere to layout as shown.
- Cover the slide mount with excess dark green floral. Frame the quote
and trim excess. Color the quote with a green pen.
- Computer journal on eggshell cardstock, print out and trim to size.
Ink the edges with black, then chalk the edges with brown and chalk
selected words with green. Adhere under the photo as shown.
- Cut out the small brown tags and ink the edges with black. Cut out
the words and ink the edges with black. Color the “son”
with green pen. Glue the words to the tags. Punch 1/16” holes
in the top of each tag and thread onto small circle clips. Clip onto
heart clip and attach one to the slide mount, the other to the photo.
Place foam tape on the back of the slide mount and tags and adhere to
page as shown.
- Place a large antique brad in each corner of the bronze shine mat
of the brown script paper.
