Whether it’s a fantastic trip you took, your cherished wedding day or
your family’s heritage story, scrapbooking is the perfect way to celebrate
memories. This month Shauna, LeNae and Paris share some fresh designs sure to
spark your creativity.

Shauna tore, sanded,
chalked and inked the page elements to fit with the ephemera background
paper. By distressing the elements to coordinate with the style of the
paper, she easily created a layout that looks well traveled—perfect
for her page theme. |

Supplies:

Instructions:
- Tear a 2” wide strip of clocks paper. Sand the paper lightly and layer
over the right edge of the license plate paper. Attach the ribbon fragment
with a large antique brad on each end. Ink the edges of the background papers
with black.
- Mat photo on white, trim to 1/16”, mat on clocks paper, trim to 1/16”,
mat on white again and trim to 1/8”. Ink edges with black. Sand the
area of the license plate paper where you plan to place photo and center photo
on page.
- Computer journal on white. Ink the edges with black and chalk journaling
with various colored chalks, preferably colors found in the license plate
paper.
- Ink slide mounts with black. Frame photos and trim to size. Place ribbon
fragments on each and adhere using antique mini brads. Attach slide mounts
to layout.

Paris made a
romantic collage in the corner of this page using crumpled and inked vellum,
a buckle, a torn heart, hardware Punch-Outs™, and the “bliss”
definition. The collage blends perfectly with the elegant collaged background
paper. |

Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Mat the photo on burgundy and black cardstock. Glue approximately 3”
from the left side of the page, centered.
- Cut a 3” x 6” piece of white vellum. Crinkle it and smooth it
out again. Ink the edges with black. Tear a heart shape out of the remaining
burgundy cardstock and ink the edges with black. Add the paper lock to the
center of the heart and brads to each side as shown. Wrap sheer ribbon around
the heart, securing the ends of the ribbon behind the heart with a Glue Dot™.
Hide adhesive for the vellum under the heart and glue to the lower right hand
corner of the page as shown. Cut out the “bliss” definition and
ink the edges with black. Add to the left side of the heart at an angle as
shown. Place the paper hinge on the top of the vellum, adding brads as shown.
Add the key punch-out to the bottom of the vellum.
- Follow the Buckle
Up directions to add the buckle to the ribbon, making sure the buckle
will be on the right side of the page. Glue to the bottom of the page with
Glue Dots™ and secure the ends behind the page.
- Cut the remaining vellum to 8 1/2” x 12”. Computer journal on
the vellum, adjusting the margins of your text document and setting the orientation
to landscape. Trim the journaled vellum to approximately 2” x 11”.
Crinkle and smooth out then ink the edges with black. Attach journaling to
the left side of the page by using circular hardware punch-outs and brads
at each end as shown.
- Add a paper hinge to the upper right corner of the photo.
Fast & Easy: The Family Story
By LeNae Gerig

LeNae
says: Because these are one-of-a kind family photos, I chose
not to crop them and left the white border on the photos. I matted each
with a border of textured tan and then black to make them coordinate with
the background. |
 |
Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Computer journal on white. Tear out sections of journaling as shown, and
chalk with brown. Cut out the suitcase, post cards, passport and document
and mount them among the torn and chalked journaling to create a border on
the right side of the map paper. The fragmented journaling draws your eyes
down the border as the story is told. Cut out the bookplate and write the
names and dates on it with a black pen. Glue to the rectangular area at the
bottom of the page.
- Mat the photos on tan textured and trim to 1/4”, then mat on black
and trim to 1/16”. Attach to the center of the map angled, as shown.
Cut out alphabet tiles and mount above and below the photos at varying angles
using foam tape.
