Instructions:
- Glue the photos onto black, 1/8”-1/4” apart in a rectangular
shape. Trim the paper around the outside edge of the photos leaving a 1/8”
border. Mat the entire piece onto teal textured paper with a 7/8” border.
Mat again on black with a 1/16” border. Center on the teal words paper,
3/4” from the top edge.
- Journal the title onto ivory vellum. Mat on textured paper with a 1/8”
border. Mat again on black with a 1/16” border. Repeat for the journaling
block. Glue the title at an angle to the upper left corner of the paper overlapping
the photos. Glue the journaling centered on the bottom of the page overlapping
the photos.
- Attach two eyelets on each side of the matted photo piece, one 1 1/2”
from the page’s top edge and one 1 3/4” from the bottom edge.
Cut two 11” strands of fiber. String three beads onto each strand. Thread
one strand through the eyelets on each side of the page. Glue the ends to
the back of the paper and secure beads to front with Glue Dots™.

Definitions
& Words Ephemera make journaling fun and easy! Here, Arlene used
red chalk and fibers to tie all the elements together for this Valentine’s
page. |

chalk the edges in red. Use the chalk to highlight specific words in the definitions.

fibers to the bottom of the mat as shown.

Simple torn
edges and perfectly matched patterned paper make this page gorgeous and
easy—even for a beginner! |
 |
Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Tear a 6 1/2” x 11 1/2” piece of striped paper across the top
and right long side, and glue to the left side of the swirls background paper
even with the left and bottom edges. Tear a 5 1/2” x 2 3/4” piece
of striped paper and glue to the right side of the page as shown, slightly
below center.
- Cut a 14” length of ribbon and glue across the center of the page,
across the center of the striped paper. Cut out the letters spelling “family”
and adhere to the left side of the page with foam tape as shown.
- Mat the photo on white paper, trimming the edges to a thin border. Mat
again on light blue spattered paper, tearing the bottom and top edges, and
cutting the sides to leave an approximate 3/8” border on all sides.
Glue the matted photo to the center of the page.
- Cut out the blank tags. Write the family name on the rectangle tag and the
year on the round tag. Punch a hole in the round tag and word charm, tie with
thread and “hang” from the ribbon at the right of the photo. Tie
a knot in a small piece of ribbon and glue over the ends of the thread. Add
the tag with the name above the letters and repeat with a knotted piece of
ribbon as shown.
