Walking in a Winter Wonderland
By Susan Cobb

This page uses layers of pastel and patterned vellum plus a painted vellum sheet to create a collage effect. The trick is the placement of the layers and in choosing vellums in the same color scheme—here, Susan chose cool blues and white.

scrapbooking

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Cut an 8" square from pastel blue vellum, turn as a diamond, and glue to the center of the snowflake collage background paper. Cut an 8 1/4" square of the cornflower blue vellum, turn as a diamond, and place half of it over the left side of the page. The point should rest at the center of the pastel blue vellum diamond. Glue in place. Trim edge even with the background paper.
  2. Add photo corners to the snowbirds vellum sheet and glue to the page about 3/4" from the right side, and 1/2" from the bottom, overlapping the first pieces.
  3. Cut a 6" square from vellum snowflakes, turn as a diamond, place over the cornflower blue vellum with the center on the edge of the background paper. Glue in place and trim edge even with page. Repeat for a 3" pastel blue square.
  4. Triple mat photos on dark red, pastel blue vellum, and silver. Trim edges to a 1/16" red border and 1/8" blue vellum border, and silver border. Glue photos to page as shown, then add journaling and pen work with the silver pen. Tie a white bow and adhere to the page as shown.

Christmas Wishes

scrapbooking

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Crop and mat your photo on ivory paper. Attach to upper right of burgundy.
  2. Cut out three patterned squares of various sizes for gift boxes. Lisa made the following sizes: 2 3/8" x 2 1/2", 3 1/4" x 3 3/8" and 3 7/8" x 4 3/16". Create ribbons for the boxes by cutting strips of paper approximately 1/4" and folding them into loops, then layering on top of one another. Affix with Mini Glue Dots™. Layer presents below photo. Cut a 1 3/8" x 2 5/16" rectangle of ivory. Trim top corners to create tag. Mount on burgundy and trim. Punch hole in top, journal "Christmas Wishes" on tag and attach with foam tape to large present.
  3. Cut out seven patterned paper circles of various sizes for ornaments. Journal on ivory paper and cut into circles to fix on ornaments as shown.
  4. Cut tree from green paper. Attach ornaments to tree with foam tape. Use metallic silver to create a silver cap for each ornament. Bend silver wire to create a loop and attach to back of each with a Mini Glue Dot™. Bend more wire to create ornament hangers and "hang" from tree by cutting slits to put wire through. Adhere tree to left side of page, overlapping presents.
  5. Journal "All I want want for Christmas...". Journal under photo.
