You can easily zoom in and focus on a subject by “punching? that person out of a photo. By matting it and using foam tape, the image will pop off the page, giving your layout extra dimension. Here Shauna used this technique by using a circle punch on photos of grandmother and great grandson.

If you're interested in stamping, vellum is a great medium to stamp on and layer over patterned paper. Remember to make sure the ink has plenty of time to dry before handling the vellum, or it will smear.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Cut an 8 1/4"x10" rectangle from the pink salt paper. Mat it on silver with a 1/16" border. Glue the matted rectangle to the upper left side of the pink “handmade?paper, leaving 1/4" of pink “handmade?flowers showing on the left and top. Cut a 7 1/8"x7 3/4" rectangle of pink vellum. Use the round brads to attach it to the pink salt rectangle, centered vertically 1 1/4" from the left side.
  2. Lay pink vellum over the photo and use the template and silver pen to trace the triangular diamond fold pattern along the photo's edge. Place the vellum on a cutting surface and use an X-acto® knife to cut out the pattern, leaving the corners attached. Trim the vellum edges to 1/8" from the point of the triangles. Glue the photo in the center and fold the triangles over the photo's edge. Mat this on silver, leaving a thin border. Attach with foam tape, 1 1/4” from the top of the pink vellum piece. Place one heart brad in each corner of the photo. Journal on the vellum above and below the photo.
  3. Cut a 1"x12" strip of vellum and use the same pattern on the diamond folds template to create the border. Attach it to a 1 1/4"x12" strip of silver paper with brads as shown. Glue the border to the right side of the page overlapping the pink salt rectangle.
  4. Mat three small photos of equal size on silver with a 1/16" border. Use foam tape to attach them 1/2" below the pink salt rectangle, evenly spaced.
