Tag templates are great for making the perfect coordinating tags for your layout.
You can mix template shapes and sizes to form a beautiful border like this one, and use the tag surface for
techniques such as journaling or layering vellum. |

Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Trace two rectangle tags onto sandstone paper and cut out. Tear pastel vellum edges, layer and adhere with 1/8"
gold eyelets. Punch two circles of baby blue vellum and adhere to tag top using 3/16" gold eyelets. String through and
tie gold fibers through tag tops. Stamp words on tag using archival black ink. Attach to left side of layout using foam tape as shown.
- Using a stylus, trace oval tag shape onto gold metal. Cut out. Punch 1/8" hole in tag top. Use stylus to emboss
around the edge of the tag. Stamp word using Stayz-On ink. Adhere to the left side of layout as shown using foam tape.
- Crop and mat photos on gold, trim to 1/16" and adhere to layout.
- Computer journal, print out on archival white paper, crop and mat on gold, and trim to 1/16" border.

Using an inkpad to color the edges of the photos in this layout
makes them look like postcards. The same technique applied to tags gives them a slightly
antiqued look, perfect for the travel theme of the page. |
 |
Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Trim each photo to 3"x5", mat on ivory and run the edges along a chestnut
brown stamp pad. Arrange on the layout as shown.
- Using the envelope template, trace and cut out three envelopes of tan vellum. Fold and
glue as instructed on the template. Use alphabet stamps and black ink to stamp on the front of the tan envelopes.
- Using the tags template, trace and cut the tags to a smaller size, so they
will fit in the vellum envelopes. Ink edges like the photos, then place a 3/16"
gold eyelet in the top of each tag. Computer journal on ivory paper, cut out, ink edges and adhere
to bottom of tags as shown. Hole punch and tie leather cord through top of tags. Place inside vellum envelopes and adhere to page.
- Cut out a small photo to fit in the square on the odd tag. Stamp the title on the tag
in black ink with alphabet stamps and date using a black pen. Attach tag to the layout as shown.

Trim sheets of 12" x 12" vellum down to 8 1/2" x 12". This size will fit
in your printer and allow you to do computer journaling. |
 |
Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Cut white vellum to 81/2" x 12". Print out title and journaling
using the landscape setting under page or document setup on your computer. Cut vellum title into
a 3" x 12" rectangle and add to the right hand side of the wave background paper.
Cut vellum journaling into a 3 1/2" x 12" rectangle and add to the bottom
of the wave background paper. Secure each with two blue eyelets and add fiber, gluing the fiber
ends to the back of the page.
- Cut a circle of yellow vellum using the tags template. Punch out 13 triangles of yellow vellum.
Using the Ultimate Glue, make a swirl on the circle. Add yellow glitter and shake off excess. Use a
glue stick to adhere the circle and triangles to the bottom right corner of the page. Use the glue
sparingly so it doesn’t show through the vellum.
- Mat the large photo on yellow vellum, leaving a 1/8" border. Mat again onto starfish paper leaving a
1/2" border, then again on blue vellum leaving a 1/4" border. Adhere on page as shown. Mat the small photo
onto blue vellum leaving a 1/4" border. Glue on the bottom right corner of large photo using foam tape.
