Torn vellum is a great way to add dimension to your page. Try adding chalk to the edges to make your torn edge
stand out even more.
Supplies:
|
Instructions:
- Cut out two sea shell vellum Cut-Outs and glue them to the upper left corner of the Sea Shell Collage page.
Tear a 2 1/2" to 4" strip of 12"x12" Tan Vellum. Use your computer to print your page title on
regular paper, and place it under the vellum strip. Trace the title through the vellum using your black pen. Secure the
vellum to the top of the page using one eyelet in each corner. The vellum will cover the sea shell Cut-Outs™
and will mute them.
- Crop the photo and mat it on Light Ivory with a torn edge. Mat again on Sea Shells
paper with a torn edge, leaving a 1" wide mat around the photo.
- Tear a rectangle of Tan Vellum that will extend approximately 1/2" beyond the Sea
Shells mat on all sides. Place the vellum over the photo and Sea Shells mat. Use a pencil to
lightly draw an "X" over the portion of the photo that you wish to place the window.
Move the vellum and place over a cutting surface. Use the X-acto® knife to cut a small
"X" to help you begin the tear. Place the vellum back over the photo and carefully
tear around the focal image.
- Use your fingertip to apply chalk to the edges of the torn vellum. Glue the Sea Shell mat to the
right side of the Collage page as shown. Secure the vellum over the mat with an eyelet in each corner.
- Use your computer and a pretty font to journal your vacation story. Print and tear into a rectangle.
Mount to the left of the photo with an eyelet in each corner.
