Instructions:

  1. Trace and transfer the pattern using the disappearing ink pen. Cut out the felt as follows: Two dark blue 5 1/2”x8 1/2” rectangles, one ivory snowman, one dark red 1”x11” strip.
  2. Fold 1/2” down from the top edge of each blue rectangle. With the ivory floss, sew a running stitch across the folded edge to secure.
  3. Use the black floss to sew a mouth onto the snowman. Make two French knots for the eyes. Use tan floss to sew the nose. Use ivory floss to sew the 3/8” buttons onto the snowman as shown. Use a running stitch with tan floss to sew the snowman to one of the blue rectangles.
  4. Tear a 1 3/4” x 6” strip from the plaid cloth. Fold one end over twice 3/8” for the hat rim. Place the rim onto the snowman’s head and use black floss to sew it in place. Curve the strip downward around the left side of the snowman, folding and tucking it under to sew it to the bag with a running stitch. Sew the 1/2” wide button to the bottom tip of the hat.
  5. Use the ivory floss to sew snowflakes to the bag as shown. Place the two blue felt pieces together with the folded edges on top and sew a running stitch along the sides and bottom to form a bag.
  6. Place one end of the red felt strip 1” below the left top side and sew a button onto it to secure it to the bag. Repeat for the other side. Insert tissue paper and a gift into the bag.
