The Side Flap Card
By Susan
Cobb
If you’re looking for a way to freshen up your card designs and
try something different, then this pattern is for you! Susan folded burgundy
floral paper around the opening edge of this card to create an elegant
and fun decorated flap.
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Cover the card front with light green floral paper.
- Glue a 1 3/8”x 4 1/4” piece of rose paper centered on
a 2 1/8”x 4 1/4” pink vellum rectangle. Place the Diamond
Folds Template pattern centered on the rose strip. Trace the template,
then cut and fold. Glue just the left side and bottom of the diamond
folds piece to the upper left corner of the card front, leaving the
other side open for the flap tip to be inserted behind it.
- Trace the side flap pattern and cut a flap from burgundy floral paper.
Mat the two cut sides onto rose paper. Fold along the dashed line and
glue the folded portion to the inside of the opening edge of the card
so the remained of the flap folds onto the card front. Glue down, slipping
the tip of the flap behind the vellum piece.
- Glue embossed charms to the vellum. Cut out flowers and leaf from
excess burgundy floral paper and glue to the top of the vellum as shown.
