Instruction:
- Open the card flat on your work surface. Use the bone folder to score
a fold 2 1/2" from each edge (see diagram). Fold each outer flap
in towards the center and crease the folds with the bone folder to make
a gatefold card. Fold the triangular flaps down and crease the folds.
The two flaps are now the card front.
- Cover each front panel with red/black checks paper, except for the
back of the triangle flaps. Fold the flaps down and secure them with
brads. Outline them with the black pen as shown. Cut a 5/8"x4"
strip of red crinkles paper and mat the long sides on black sponged
paper. Attach three pinwheels and brads evenly spaced on the strip.
Glue the left half of the strip to the right edge of the left flap.
- Cut out the quote and chalk “dance.” Mat it on sponged
paper. Glue it to the right flap at an angle. Cut a 1 3/4" x 1/4"
strip of crinkles paper and mat it on sponged paper. Glue it to the
right flap overlapping the quote as shown. Knot the center of a 3"
length of ribbon and glue it to the top of the strip. Trim the tails
to 1".
- For the inside: Cover it with black sponged paper. Cut out the quote
and chalk “it’s your birthday.” Mat it on crinkles
paper and add a ribbon tab to the top with a brad. Glue as shown.
