Quick. Simple. Sophisticated. Yes, all three of these are easy to accomplish at once. For those of you who lead busy lives (who doesn’t?), this combination is incredibly important when it comes to your paper crafting projects. While you may not have spent a lot of time on a layout, tag or card, you certainly don’t want your project to look like you spent little time on it. So how do the busy designers at Hot Off The Press make super cute, sophisticated and quick cards for the ones they love? With the new 8”x8” Almost Done™ Scrapbook Page Kits.

Why scrapbook page kits, you ask? Because even your cards are “Almost Done” with these great little packs. With 6 different coordinated patterned papers perfectly sized for mini album pages or cards, plus pre-made 3-D embellishments, no one would ever guess how simple it is to make a great looking card. Or two, or three…

Here are a few super simple, yet sophisticated cards designer LeNae Gerig made with the Family Almost Done™ Scrapbook Page Kit.

Tall "Friends Forever" Card

This cute 3” x 6 1/2” card has a unique shape and great dimension!

Supplies

Instructions:

  1. Cut the card to 3” x 6 1/2” and cover with blue textured paper, trimming the edges even with the card. Cut a 3” x 2 1/4” strip of green w/ dots paper from the green w/dots vertical border paper. Mat the top and bottom edges of the strip on brown textured paper, trimming to 1/8”. Glue the matted strip 3/4” from the top edge of the card. Ink the card edges brown.
  2. Stick the large green tag over the green w/ dots strip as shown. Add the “Friends Forever” faux bottle cap to the tag. Mat both daisy squares on brown textured paper, trimming to 1/8”. Glue one matted daisy to the bottom right corner of the card. Remove the foam adhesive from the back of the “memories” file tab and glue the tab so it extends from the bottom right edge of the card.
  3. For the card inside: Cut a 1 1/2” square of green w/ dots paper and mat on blue textured, trimming to 1/8”. Ink the edges brown and glue the remaining matted daisy to the center. Glue centered to the inside back of the card, about 1” from the top. Attach the green bow to the bottom edge of the square and trim the tails if necessary.

Rectangle “Family” Card

LeNae used this pre-printed border paper to cover the card front, saving her the time of adding three separate pieces.

Supplies

Instructions:

  1. Cover the card front with green w/dots and vertical border paper so there is about 1 3/4” of textured blue at the top and the border lies horizontally on the card front. Trim the paper even with the card edges and ink the edges brown.
  2. Adhere the bookplate centered over the border and attach the flower to the center. Adhere the “family” word fragment to the bottom right corner of the card front.
  3. For the card inside: Cut a 5” x 1 1/2” strip of green dots paper and mat the top and bottom on brown textured, trimming to 1/8”. Glue to the inside back of the card, 3/4” from the top edge. Attach the “family” tag and pocket over the strip so the ribbon pull extends from the top edge of the card. Add the “family” file tab to the top right of the paper strip.

Square “Friends” Card

LeNae continued the modular design of her card with a matted rectangle centered on the card front. She added visual impact by adding a printed button border and the friends label.

Supplies

Instructions:

  1. Cut the card to a 5” square and turn the card so the fold is to the left. Cover the card front with color block paper so the green portion is in the lower left corner of the card. Trim the paper even with the card front and ink the edges brown. Cut a 2” x 2 1/4” rectangle of blue and mat on brown textured, trimming to 1/8”. Glue the rectangle to the center of the card front.
  2. Attach the “friends” label to the center of the rectangle. Cut one 2” length from each end of the dots and buttons border, then attach one length to each side of the “friends” label, extending from under the tag as shown.
  3. For the card inside: Remove the button from the remaining border length and adhere the border to the lower inside back of the card. Attach the “smile” bottle cap to the center of the border.
