For your mom, your sister, your best friend or your wife
or girlfriend. You know she’s had one of those weeks. Why not surprise
her with a ribbon-wrapped gift basket? Add aromatic bath gel, a net sponge
and a ribbon-wrapped candle to a wicker basket to say simply, “relax”.
Supplies:
- 3 yards of 2” wide yellow sheer ribbon
- 1 yard of 1” wide ivory sheer ribbon
- 7”x11 1/2”x5 1/2” wicker basket with 8” tall
handle
- three 4” wide yellow silk roses, each with two clusters of 2”-3”
green leaves
- clear iridescent shredded filler
- white cloth-covered 24-guage wire
- wire cutters
- low temperature glue gun, glue sticks
- bath supplies: bath gel, yellow net sponge, ivory candle in frosted
glass
Instructions:
- Cut the blossoms and leaf clusters from the stems. Glue the blossoms
in a row across the front of the basket. Glue the leaf clusters extending
outward from behind the blossoms.
- Cut 1 yard from the yellow ribbon. Glue one end to a handle base,
then wrap the ribbon around the handle to reach the other side. Use
the remaining yellow ribbon to make an oblong bow with a center loop,
two 2” loops, four 3” loops and two 4” tails. Cut
an inverted “V” into each tail. Glue the bow to the front
handle base above the roses.
- Place the candle centered on the ivory ribbon, pull the ends to the
top and tie into a shoestring bow with 2” loops and 3 1/2”
tails. Trim each tail at an angle, Insert the shredded filler and bath
supplies into the basket.
