What’s summer without an imaginative project in the works? For
a creative challenge, try your hand at a unique paper craft—altered
books! Sara created this special book with moveable windows to hide special
little
messages.
Sara’s Supplies:
Creating Your Book
Cover the Pages
Sara covered the left book page with letters paper.
Tags
Use the template to make four tags, then add brads, definitions, embossed
paper fragments and a slide mount. Use chalk to shade the tags and highlight
words in the definitions.
Windows
Punch three circle from the textured paper, then make tabs from letters
paper. Ink all the edges and attach the circles to the textured paper
with brads. Add inked slide mounts and embossed paper fragments to the
circles and inside the windows.
Project reprinted from More
Altered Books. More Altered Books features a variety of ideas on creating
altered books with techniques like tag art, direct-to-paper inking and
more.
