Bath Pail
By LeNae Gerig

For creative people on the go, a quick gift idea is always welcome! Trust LeNae Gerig, the designer who knows how to make fast and fun gifts for all occasions! This bath pail is perfect for a teen or pre-teen girl; change the color of paper and you have a fun bridal or baby shower gift. It's also perfect for birthdays or to send a college student off to the dorm this fall. (Hmmm... or why not as a special treat for you?)

Supplies:

  • 6 3/4"x5 1/2" round white metal pail with handle
  • 12"x12" Paper Pizazz® Bright Tints Pink Swirls patterned paper
  • 7/16" black letter stickers
  • 1 1/4" yards of 1 1/2" wide purple sheer ribbon with wire edges
  • 9" of purple fiber
  • 25 mm purple heart rhinestone
  • paint pens: fine point dark pink, medium point purple
  • 1 5/8"x3 1/4" white tag
  • excelsior (enough to fill the tin)
  • scissors, tacky craft glue, ruler or measuring tape

LeNae filled the pail with a foot brush, plastic green bath toy, 4-color bath scrunchy and bottles of bath bubbles.

Instructions:

  1. Remove the lid. Cut the swirls paper into two 3"x12" strips. Glue the strips to form a band around the tin, 1/4" from the bottom edge. Wrap the ribbon around the swirls band, knot twice at the front and cut an inverted "v" into each tail.
  2. Draw purple dots 1/4" apart along the bottom edge of the tin. Repeat for another row around the top, just below the ridge. Draw a row of pink dots above the ridge, near the top.
  3. Cut a 1 5/8"x1 1/8" piece of swirls paper and glue it near the bottom edge of the tag. Glue the rhinestone onto the swirls. Use the letter stickers to personalize the tag. Use the fiber to tie the tag to the handle base. Insert excelsior into the tin, then arrange the bath accessories on top.
