Celebrate
By Susan Cobb

Chalk is a great way to add a touch of color that matches your papers. The teal and lime chalks used here are a perfect complement to this funky dot paper—great for chalking the card, the paper and the “celebrate” focal.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Apply lime green chalk to the edges of the card front (if your lime green chalk is more yellow than the lime in the paper, add a little green, also). Tip: If you want a straight line, place your ruler about 1/4” in from the edge of the card. Use the eraser to erase the chalk from the card, along the edge of the ruler.
  2. Cut a 4 x 5 1/2” rectangle of teal dotted paper and chalk the edges with teal. Glue to aqua mesh paper, leaving a 3/16” border. Glue centered to the card front. Use the black pen to draw a line around the edge of the dotted paper.
  3. Cut the quotes into rectangles. Chalk the center of each with lime, and the edges with teal. Mat each on onyx glimmer, leaving a thin border. Glue a 5” length of aqua ribbon across the center of the card front. Add foam tape to the back of the larger quote and attach over the center of the ribbon. Tie a knot in a 3” length of ribbon and glue to the upper right side of the quote.
  4. Add brads and pinwheel to dots in the paper as shown. For the inside, mat the remaining quote on aqua mesh paper, leaving a 1/4” border. Glue to the center of the inside. Add a black line around the edge of the mesh paper with the pen. Tie a knot in a piece of ribbon and add to the quote as shown.
