This thoughtful card is great for any occasion! Susan covered both the front and the inside of this card with patterned papers, then added coordinating embellishments like ribbon, brads and pinwheels, focal cut-outs and word fragments. No matter what the event, your recipient will appreciate the attention to detail that makes this card beautiful!

Susan shares her designer tip: Altering materials is quick and easy and can add a lot of punch to your cards. On this “Thinking of You” card, rather than just gluing a ribbon strip down the right side of the card, I chose to knot the ribbon and attach it with brads. Also, rather than simply gluing the focal in the center of the card, I matted it on top of torn vellum and added a floral shaped pinwheel to the center. Details like these will make your cards unique and a joy to receive!

Supplies:

• one 5” x 6 1/2” blank white card from Cardmaker’s™ Blank Cards and Envelopes

Instructions:

1. With the fold at the left, trim 1/2” off the right side of the card front. Cover the remaining card front with lavender diamonds paper. Cut a 3 1/4” strip of pink words paper and glue it on top of the lavender diamonds paper flush against the right side of the card front.
2. Cut out the mauve floral bouquet and heart focals and mat them on pink vellum, then tear the edges of the vellum around the focal. Glue the floral bouquet just left of the center of the card front. Cut out the “laugh” tag and attach a brad and pinwheel to the top of the tag. Glue the tag to the lower left corner of the focal.
3. Fold a 12” length of ribbon in half and lay it vertically on the left side of the
   card front. Tie a knot 1 3/4” in from the top and bottom of the ribbon as shown. Attach the top and bottom of the ribbon strip with brads and trim the bottom end. Add a brad and pinwheel between the knots in the center of the ribbon strip. Add another brad and pinwheel to the center of the floral bouquet focal. Cut out the “Thinking Of You” fragment and glue it to the bottom of the card front.
4. Cover the inside of the card with a 5” x 6 1/2” piece of lavender crinkled paper. Glue the heart focal just left of the center of the card. Glue the “With Love” fragment to the right side of the focal and add a brad between the two. Mix purple and pink chalks and lightly add to the focals.
