Love is the Key
Designer: Susan Cobb

Zoom In

Susan says, "This pink and lavender card is great for romantic occasions such as wedding, or anniversary—as well as Valentine’s Day. I used a fabric tag sticker as my card focal, inking the edges of the sticker with black for definition. "

Susan’s Sticker Tip: When peeling the fabric stickers from the sheet, carefully lift two sides of one end of the sticker, then lift the sticker from the paper at both sides to avoid stretching. Don’t start peeling from one corner—this will cause the fabric to stretch and warp.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Place the card with the fold on the left, then cover the card front with pink lattice paper. Cut a 4 1/2” x 6” piece of lavender texture paper and ink the edges. Use the black pen to draw stitch marks around the edge of the paper. Glue centered to the card front.
  2. Cut the quote into a rectangle, then ink the edges and use the black pen to draw stitch marks along the right and left sides. Tie a knot in a 2” length of ribbon and wrap the upper right corner of the quote, gluing at the back to secure. Glue the quote to the front of the card angled as shown.
  3. Cut the rose tag sticker from the sheet, leaving a slight amount of excess backing. Ink edges and let dry. Lift sticker from the backing and add antique heart clip to the right edge. Adhere to the card front beneath the quote as shown.
  4. Lift off the butterfly sticker and mat it on pink lattice paper. Ink the edges and glue to the right of the tag sticker. Add a brad, ribbon and “love” fragment to the sticker tag.
  5. Cover the inside with pink floral paper. Cut the remaining quote into a rectangle, ink the edges, then finish with the “stitching” penwork. Mat it on lavender texture paper and ink the edges again. Glue centered to the inside of the card.
