With today’s bustling lifestyles, sometimes it’s hard to find the time to make cards for your loved ones. Here Shauna shows us three quick, easy and gorgeous card designs.

Happy Birthday
By Shauna Berglund-Immel

For a birthday card that’s quick and easy, Shauna used Mary Anne’s Tag Art Cut-Outs™. By inking the edges of the paper, the card and the tags, she created an aged, well-loved look that also gives the card definition.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Trim tan definitions to 4 3/4” x 6 1/4”. Ink edges with black. Center on white card front.
  2. Ink white card front edges with black.
  3. Cut out tag art labels, ink edges with black.
  4. Place a gold brad in each end of the labels.
  5. Adhere three labels to card front with foam tape as shown.
  6. Tie gold fibers in knot. Attach to top left of card with Glue Dot™.
  7. Tie knots in ends of each fiber.
  8. Place remaining label inside of card.

Thinking of You
By Shauna Berglund-Immel

Shauna incorporated a variety of techniques for a shabby chic, vintage look. She used brown and pale yellow chalks for a rich, warm tone, distressed the card’s sentiment by crumpling, and added ribbon, brads and a uniquely-shaped clip. Perfect for a dear friend!

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Trim purple lace paper to 5” x 6 1/2”, making sure the lace runs horizontally.
  2. Pre-poke holes with needle or thumbtack, 1/4” apart on the lace borders and stitch with ivory embroidery floss.
  3. Ink edges, then chalk with brown and pale yellow. Rub toward the center to blend.
  4. Adhere purple lace to card front.
  5. Cut out “thinking of you”. Crumple, uncrumple and chalk with brown and pale yellow. Place antique brads on each end, then adhere to card front.
  6. Tear and cut out alphabet tiles. Crumple and uncrumple, then adhere to card front and chalk with brown and black.
  7. Place triangle clip on left side. Tie shoestring bow and adhere to top left of card with Glue Dot™.

With Sympathy Card
By Shauna Berglund-Immel

Shauna was inspired by the bright colors from the Girls to Women book from the Busy Scrapper’s Solution series, and used the papers and tags for a cheery card. She mimicked the pattern of the tag with the background papers, and used the tags and butterfly to add dimension. Want a little secret from Shauna? Elements are most pleasing in odd numbered groups—that’s why she used the three pieces on the card front!
